On Saturday 22 September, Artopia is encouraging everyone to draw for WA’s Biggest Draw - a day long free event for all ages rediscovering the wonders of drawing. Get involved in your area’s event – or join forces with local artists, your local council, shops and galleries to run your own! Register your drawing event as well with the national Drawing Australia

Artists
  • Devise activities that invite the public to learn more about what you do
  • Get on the grapevine - find out what else is happening in your area and join in
  • Open your studio – people love visiting home studios, but be sure you are comfortable with that.
  • Exhibit with a local business – approach a local cafes or shop to show your work
  • Contact your local library or council run recreational halls about low cost or free spaces
  • Chat with your gallery about presenting a special program together
  • Join forces with artist friends for a collaborative event - inhabit public spaces and create something together or with the public!
  • Look out for opportunities with Artopia’s artists@work
Businesses
Hosting an artist in your workplace can:
  • invigorate your work environment
  • charge up the creative talents of your team
  • present opportunities for seeing your world from a different perspective
  • wow your clients

Schools
Schools can make the most of Artopia by:
  • visiting artists in their studios or encouraging their students to do so
  • recruiting artists to help run your own drawing event, or other artistic extravaganza
  • showcasing the outcomes of your artist workshop or residency programs
  • exhibiting the work of your visual arts teachers.
