Get drawing!
On Saturday 22 September, Artopia is encouraging everyone to draw for WA’s Biggest Draw - a day long free event for all ages rediscovering the wonders of drawing. Get involved in your area’s event – or join forces with local artists, your local council, shops and galleries to run your own! Register your drawing event as well with the national Drawing Australia

Devise activities that invite the public to learn more about what you do
Get on the grapevine - find out what else is happening in your area and join in
Open your studio – people love visiting home studios, but be sure you are comfortable with that.
Exhibit with a local business – approach a local cafes or shop to show your work
Contact your local library or council run recreational halls about low cost or free spaces
Chat with your gallery about presenting a special program together
Join forces with artist friends for a collaborative event - inhabit public spaces and create something together or with the public!

Businesses
Hosting an artist in your workplace can:

invigorate your work environment
charge up the creative talents of your team
present opportunities for seeing your world from a different perspective
wow your clients

Schools
Schools can make the most of Artopia by:

visiting artists in their studios or encouraging their students to do so
recruiting artists to help run your own drawing event, or other artistic extravaganza
showcasing the outcomes of your artist workshop or residency programs
exhibiting the work of your visual arts teachers.
